Supermodel Naomi Campbell scooped the Outstanding Contribution award at the Elle Style awards last night.

The 39-year-old was honoured for her 25-year career and her work as global patron of The White Ribbon Alliance (WRA) which promotes safe pregnancy.

Prime Minister's wife Sarah Brown introduced Campbell at the central London ceremony as "a woman who has campaigned tirelessly on behalf of the WRA" before presenting her with the award.

Kylie Minogue presented the TV Star award to her sister Dannii, who was on a whistle-stop visit to London before returning to her home country to judge Australia's Got Talent.

The 38-year-old, who is expecting her first child in the summer with model boyfriend Kris Smith, revealed: "I've just gone stage one with the wardrobe where no jeans fit. Can't get any of them on and you buy jeans with stretchy bits at the front. The rest, I don't even know how it works.

"I really don't know how I'm going to approach any of it yet."

Claudia Schiffer was named Model of the Year. She revealed on the red carpet that her mother had advised her happiness was the key to a healthy pregnancy so she was avoiding scary movies.

Bafta winners Carey Mulligan and Colin Firth were named Actress and Actor of the year.

Mulligan confessed she was hungover from celebrating her Bafta win and she and all her friends had taken turns having their photo taken with the gold Bafta mask in front of their faces as they partied into the early hours.

Twilight star Kristen Stewart was presented with the Elle Style Woman of the Year award by editor-in-chief Lorraine Candy.

Actor-turned-musician Jared Leto presented the Editor's Choice award to TV presenter, model and DJ Alexa Chung.

Ms Candy said: "Alexa Chung is incredibly popular because she always looks so glamorous and I think she's a real leader for style."

Nicholas Hoult scooped the Breakthrough Talent award, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were named Elle's Style Icons of 2010 and Florence and the Machine were given the Music prize by Corinne Bailey Rae.
