Teenager named Britain's next top model
Tuesday 05 October 2010
An 18-year-old who lives in Malta was crowned Britain's Next Top Model.
Tiffany Pisani, who was born in Wolverhampton, won the contest last night after a televised live final.
The 5ft 9in teenager beat off competition from Joy McLaren and Alisha White to win a contract with Models 1, a fashion shoot with Company magazine, and an advertising campaign with make-up firm Revlon.
Host Elle McPherson avoided the problem experienced on the Australian version of the show, in which the wrong winner was announced, as the British winner's face was instead shown on the television screen.
Pisani, who left university to pursue modelling, was initially speechless before telling viewers watching proceedings on Living: "I just want to say thanks to everyone who picked up the phone and voted for me, as well as the judges for their support throughout the show."
McLaren earlier finished in third place, making White the runner-up.
