Even though industry insiders say that beauty shoppers will still stick to the essentials in the new year, with a selection like this, they better hold on tight to their wallets.
New beauty lines
Burberry will release a whole new range of beauty products next year. The makeup launch, which is planned for July 2010, will carry around 100 different color products for eyes, lips and skin that will retail at international upscale department stores.
UK retail giant Topshop has also announced its first range of beauty products for spring 2010. Details about the makeup collection remain scarce but according to the retailer, there will be "core products" for eyes, lips and nails starting from £5 (€5.70), which will be updated four times a year.
For its 10th birthday next year, Lancôme plans to release a whole new line of Juicy Tubes lipglosses based on natural honey as part of the newly launched 100% Natural Origins range.
New fragrances
After a successful collaboration with Swedish retailer H&M, the president of shoe brand Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon, has announced the launch of her first fragrance next year.
A new Balenciaga perfume, fronted by French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg, will be launched in February.
Kim Kardashian, the reality star from Keeping up with the Kardashians and author of her own beauty blog, will release her perfume together with Lighthouse Beauty in February 2010.
Beyoncé's first fragrance, 'Heat,' will be produced by Coty and is scheduled to launch in February 2010 in North and South America, and in Europe and other key markets later that year.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé's husband Jay-Z will release singer Rihanna's and rapper Kanye West's first fragrances via his Iconic Fragrances brand, a Coty competitor.
Black Eyed Peas frontwoman Fergie will launch her first fragrance with Avon in August, following Reese Witherspoon's debut on the label.
Coinciding with the premiere of the new Sex and the City movie, the series' star Sarah Jessica Parker will release her fruity-floral 'SJP NYC' perfume in February.
Following the successful 'Daisy' and 'Lola' fragrances, Marc Jacobs is preparing a new collection of scents inspired by French macaron flavors including apple, pomegranate and biscotti, due to be out early next year.
Other fragrances planned for 2010: Sean John 'Empress,' Swarovski's and Martin Margiela's debut scents, Burberry 'Sport' for men and women, Gwen Stefani 'Harajuku Lovers Sunshine Cuties,' Halle Berry 'Pure Orchid,' Shakira's debut fragrance.

'Jeanne La Rose,' the "more romantic" update of Lanvin's 'Jeanne' fragrance, will become available in March, priced at €58.
Following the 'Glow' successor 'My Glow,' singer and actress Jennifer Lopez is preparing another fragrance launch, 'Blue Glow by JLO', for February.
Other beauty launches
US burlesque dancer Dita von Teese, who is also a spokeswoman for MAC cosmetics and its Viva Glam product range, has announced via her Twitter account that she is planning to launch a beauty book next year.
US singer Jessica Simpson's new reality series called The Price of Beauty, dealing with "what people find beautiful and why," has been confirmed to air next year on VH1.
