If you aren't already harbouring a dangerous shoe obsession, prepare to gain one next June when the new fashion exhibition opens at the V&A.

Shoes: Pleasure and Pain will chart the history of shoes from all around the world, focusing on the more extreme styles. From sandals dating back to Ancient Egypt to modern day styles from the world's most famous shoe designers including Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin.

"Examples from famous shoe wearers and collectors will be shown alongside a dazzling range of historic shoes, many of which have not been displayed before" the museum commented.

Also featured in the exhibition, according to Marie Claire, will be the platform shoes Naomi Campbell famously took a tumble down the catwalk in at a Vivienne Westwood show.

2015 is shaping up to be an exciting year at the V&A, with the museum hosting the long awaited Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition from March until July.

The Shoes: Pleasure and Pain exhibition will open on 13th June 2015 and run until January 2016.
