Taylor Swift to launch fragrance
Monday 18 July 2011
The country singer has announced that her first signature scent, Wonderstruck, will be available from October.
"I wrote the lyric, 'I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home,' for the song 'Enchanted' about the first time you meet someone," Swift said in a statement. "A fragrance can help shape someone's first impression and memory of you. It's exciting to think that Wonderstruck will play a role in creating some of those memories."
"Enchanted" is believed to have been written for Owl City's Adam Young, who confirmed in an interview that he used the word "wonderstruck" in an email to Swift. "We emailed back and forth for a while and she made some comment that I used the word 'enchanted' and the word 'wonderstruck' in an email and she said how she had never heard anyone really use that word before, so when that word was in the song, I was like this song has to be about me," Young told Us Magazine.
Wonderstruck will open with notes of freesia and apple blossom and feature a heart of vanilla, honeysuckle, and white hibiscus, with a dry-down of amber, sandalwood, and peach.
Celebrity scents are still going strong according to the latest figures: Justin Bieber's Someday and Beyoncé's Heat both made $3 million at Macy's stores alone in the first weeks after their launch.
