Virtual fashion: Culture Chanel, Olivier Theyskens for Theory, 'indie' fashion flash sales
Wednesday 02 February 2011
See what's happening in online fashion this week.
Oliver Theyskens' designs for US fashion brand Theory are now available online. Following a series of successful capsule collections, the Belgian designer now has his own line at the label. Prices are a bit steeper than what Theory fans are used to but a bargain compared to Theyskens' former work at French fashion house Nina Ricci. Shop the full collection here.
Coinciding with the Culture Chanel exhibition at Shanghai's Museum of Contemporary Art - running through March 14 - French couture brand Chanel has launched a correspondong micro-site that allows fans to fully immerse themselves in the label's universe including exclusive content from behind the scenes, history facts, videos, photos, and much more.
Fashion site StyleCaster has launched the beta version of a new beauty-focused outlet called Beauty High, "a site dedicated to style-driven beauty content and online shopping that makes beauty cool for a new generation." Readers will find beauty stories, the latest trends, how-to tutorials, celebrity beauty, and online shopping, as well as interviews with industry professionals such as Pat McGrath or Napoleon Perdis.
The online edition of US Elle got a makeover.
A new flash sale site is set to launch February 8: Global Fashion Brands aims to introduce shoppers to independent fashion labels through a "discovery platform" - a welcome addition to the existing sites such as Gilt, Ideeli or Rue La La that mainly focus on well-known designer brands.
