Friday 14 May 2010
Most big beauty labels have dropped their summer collections by now, and for them, it's time to get back into thinking mode: what will be the colors for the next year? See what industry professionals will be up to in the coming month.
The Makeup Show
May 16 - 17
New York, USA
An event for makeup professionals, the fifth edition of New York City's Makeup Show will include workshops, keynotes, and exhibitions. The two-day fair also hosts editions in Los Angeles and Miami.
L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy
The Colour Trophy awards were introduced in 1954, making them the longest-running hairdressing competition in Britain and one of the most respected worldwide. They have evolved from a small hairdressers' trade event to the country's biggest gala of the industry and now include the Regional Finals, the Men's Image Award and the Young Colourist Award.
Other comparable events comprise the British Hairdressing Awards in London (end of year) and the Mondial de la Coiffure Beauté in Paris, between November 6 and 8, 2010.
Beautyworld Middle East
June 1 - 3
Considered the largest international trade fair for beauty products, cosmetics and perfumery in the Middle East, Beautyworld will again attract around 700 exhibitors and more than 15,000 trade-only visitors from the region and from abroad.
New York, USA
The 'Oscars' of the US Fragrance Foundation have a 37-year-long history and are also celebrated in Germany ('Duftstars,' ), France ('Grand Prix du Parfum,' awarded in collaboration with Marie Claire magazine), Italy (together with the 'Accademia del Profumo,' the Italian fragrance foundation), Spain, and the UK.
Hair Expo Australia
Being the largest hairdressing event in the southern hemisphere, the Hair Expo at the Sydney Convention Centre gives visitors an update on cutting, coloring and extensions, but also on tanning and nail products. There will be live demonstrations on the 'Action Stage,' and the best coiffeurs of Australia and New Zealand will be honored at the closing event, the Schwartzkopf Professional Hair Expo Awards.
