Weekly beauty agenda: treats you can bag during fashion month
Friday 11 February 2011
Get in on the fashion week action with these beauty goodies waiting for you this season.
New York Fashion Week
New York, USA
Fashion news blog StyleList has parked its new Mobile Makeover Bus just outside the Lincoln Center tents (Columbus Avenue and West 65th Street, 12-6 pm, through February 14). Says the site: "Staffed with top makeup artists, the bus will offer mini-makeovers, selected hot looks just off the runway and an eyebrow-shaping station. Refreshments, surprises and some special guests will also pop up throughout the event."
London Fashion Week
Electronics company Canon and The Telegraph have teamed up for a competition that might win you a spot in the photographers' pit at the shows. Email Kate Day at firstname.lastname@example.org with up to three beauty-themed photographs you took by February 16, and you could be shooting top models wearing London's finest designers.
See all requirements at http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/culture/kateday/100051329/london-fashion-week-competition-win-a-place-in-the-photographers-pit.
Milan Fashion Week
February 23 - March 1
Italy's shows are known for their va-va-voom beauty looks, so if you could use some help in the makeup department, follow MAC's tweets: the cosmetic brand's makeup artists, who are working on the models backstage, will be sharing their tips and tricks live.
Paris Fashion Week
Marc by Marc Jacobs is launching a pop-up nail bar at the Printemps department store (64 bd Haussmann, third floor), which will be in place March 3-5, 3-6pm. If you buy one of the label's fashion pieces, you will get a free manicure inspired by the prints of the current collection. Nail polish brand OPI will be on site to provide the products.
