Weekly fashion indicators: flat + platforms = flatforms
Tuesday 08 March 2011
The fashion-savvy Polyvore users are quickly embracing the "flatform:" a shoe, which would usually be flat (sandals, ballet pumps), on a platform sole.
Despite their slightly orthopedic look, models from Jeffrey Campbell or Won Hundred are taking fashion fans' hearts by storm.
Also in trends, oversized watches taking the number one spot could hint at shoppers' tastes in the forefield of the world's biggest watch industry gathering Baselworld, which takes place at the end of the month.
Brands keep getting more accessible, with only three high-profile design labels ranking in the top ten this week, while Spanish retailer Mango's (even more) affordable MNG line debuts in first place and the US budget department store JC Penney's website rockets to the pole position in websites.
Audrey Hepburn is finally losing her grip on the celebrity top ten, after months (years?) of occupying the top spots, to Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester and Blake Lively, and designer Victoria Beckham appears in the celebrity list, rather than the brand ranking, for the first time.
