Weekly fashion videos: dance, dance, dance with Target and Missoni
Friday 11 March 2011
Fashion's infatuation with dance, which got an extra spark from the "Black Swan" movie, continues this week, with Rachel Roy, Target, and Missoni all releasing short films that go straight into your feet.
Rachel Roy's spring/summer collection gets showcased by modern dancers in "Move," choreographed by Jermaine Browne - a short film that is guaranteed to make you go out and dance this weekend.
The video for Target's Go International re-release (the US retailer will bring back some of the most popular designs from its designer collaborations) features step dance collective Bad News from the Bronx.
The whole Missoni family clan is jiving to the beat in the label's designs in this new release.
One of the most talked-about videos of the week has to be seen to be believed: watch Kate Moss get drunk (and cozy) with a depressed teddy bear for Comic Relief.
It's been a good week for Moss: in addition to the publicity storm caused by the Comic Relief video and walking on Louis Vuitton's runway in Paris, she is also the star of Longchamp's new Faraway campaign, channeling a Brigitte Bardot-like travelista in Marrakech.
Dolce & Gabbana are still the masterminds behind Kylie Minogue's stage outfits - watch the "principessa" (as the designers call her) try on her costumes for the "Les Folies" world tour in the D&G atelier.
Supermodel Karen Elson stars in the film for Giorgio Armani's spring/summer collection, "La Femme Bleue."
Want more Armani? After several teasers featuring Megan Fox, the brand has released its clip for men's underwear and jeans, featuring tennis star Rafael Nadal.
Chanel shot a video that can only be described as handbag porn for its Mademoiselle range.
Celebrating its 90th anniversary, Gucci has collaborated with fellow Italian brand Fiat: the Gucci Fiat 500 car comes with sleek red and green racing stripes.
Another brand had a major birthday this year: Michael Kors has been in business for 30 years. See preparations backstage for the big anniversary show in New York in this video.
Any New York fan will enjoy this short film for local cult shoe brand 80%20, shot on Brooklyn Bridge.
One of the most delectable trends in fashion right now? Being in a good mood, it seems. Soon gone might be the days of miserable waifs, at least if you trust Justin Wu who shot another adorable lip-synching video to sum up the "Girls of Autumn/Winter 2011" for Hong Kong and Beijing department store Lane Crawford.
