International retailer of children's toys Toys R Us became the latest chain Tuesday to announce what they believe will be the hot toys this Christmas, including flying fish and trash can creatures.
The predictions for the top Christmas toys of 2011 were released by Toys R Us on September 20. The international retailer picked 36 new products which, according to senior vice president and chief marketing officer Karen Dodge "... highlight what we expect will be the most sought-after items this holiday season."
Items on the list include Air Swimmers eXtreme from Animal Planet, which are 1.2 meter (four foot) long fish-shaped metallic ballons that 'swim' in the air via remote control and are aimed at eight to 11 year olds; the classic 1980s Cabbage Patch Kids dolls, which are expected to make a comeback for younger children aged two to four years; and Hasbro's Let's Rock Elmo from children's TV series Sesame Street, predicted to be popular among children aged 13 months to two years.
Full details of the 36 toys on the "2011 Holiday Hot Toys " list released by Toys R Us are available on the company's Facebook page.
Earlier this month online retailer Littlewoods also released its predictions for the top toys of 2011 which included several high-tech items such as the educational touchscreen Vtech Tablet, while UK retailer Hamleys also predicts that high-tech electronic items will do well this season alongside more ‘traditional' items such as the Vortex Nitron Nerf gun.
