A new app for your virtual cellar to navigate through Napa

A new Wine Tasting Tab application will be released at the end of October for both Apple and Droid devices to help you find free tastings at over 700 wineries throughout Northern California plus much more.

The co-developer of Wine Tasting Tab and former food and wine editor of the Sacramento Bee newspaper Robert Ehlert told Relaxnews on October 15 that the application focuses only on California wineries.

"There are 2,700 wineries in the state, the most popular are in Napa and Sonoma Wine regions. But this app covers both those regions and many others in Northern California." It "should be ready by the end of October and sell for $2.99 [€2.39]."

In addition to pinpointing free wine tastings in one of the most renowned wine areas of the world, it also includes "25 categories of information, including addresses, websites, varietals, tasting menus, bottle prices, hours, whether you need an appointment," and signifies if the wineries have special food pairings or views or allow pets, according to the Bee.

If you are looking for local wine tastings and events there is a free application, Wine Events, ( http://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/wine-events/id352070012?mt=8), a companion to the site LocalWineEvents.com, with nearly 300,000 events posted worldwide.

There are also other apps that focus on tastings throughout the United States including TastingRoom Finder ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tastingroom-finder/id312862312?mt=8)(€3.99) and Wine Trip ( http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wine-trip/id327769022?mt=8) (€0.79).
