#Cabernet Day takes place worldwide on September 2 and everyone is encouraged to drink red, tweet tasting notes on red while wearing something red.
Kenny Galloway of Domaine du Closel, Château des Vaults, a family-run, organic winery/vineyard in Savennières, France, explained to Relaxnews on August 25 that "#Cabernet Day is two-fold ... first and foremost it is a worldwide celebration of all Cabernet-based wines, meaning cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, and cabernet blends, plus including rosés... the second aspect of this event is a celebration of the new and growing link between wine and social media, most particularly Twitter, Facebook, wine blogs, YouTube, etc..."
Social media guru Rick Bakas at St. Supery Vineyards & Winery in Napa Valley, California is the brainchild behind this celebration and over 20 other # wine days.
This global event has many wineries, shops and restaurants celebrating with special cabernet tastings and dinners. Here is a list of events: http://cabernet.eventbrite.com/
