Spitalfields City Farm, according toRoopa Gulati, proves that farms are not just for the countryside. A registered charity, the community at Spitalfields has put in hard graft in making this farm a beacon of hope for urban locals. Not only do green-fingered volunteers at the farmproduce fresh vegetables for the community but they help inform and entertain local residents through training programmes and activities, she says. Visit from Tuesdays to Thursdays for a selection of affordable fruit, vegetables and plants, including such exotica as okra, coriander, chillies and bottle gourd.
