Beast wishes
One of London's top up-and-coming homeware and gift designers, Lush, has just taken up residency in a pop-up store on the East End's trendy Columbia Road. Their range of animal-inspired cards would make for a perfect Easter greetings set. Set of six for £13, lushlampshades.co.uk
Live tweeting
Reason to be cheerful number one: it is almost spring. Reason to be cheerful number two: you can have your very own live link-up to the miracle of nature's rebirth thanks to this Camera Nest Box. A little CCTV camera links up to your TV, allowing you to see the nesting, hatching and eventual fledging of one of your garden birds. Better than most of what's on telly. £39.95, ukwaterfeatures.com
Table talk
Foodies, rejoice! Feast, London's favourite new food festival, returns this week. Hip restaurants including Rita's, Bone Daddies and HIX will be in residence at Tobacco Dock. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, supper clubs will be hosted in the cavernous vaults beneath the docks, where guests can hire a private room for up to 30 people. 7-10 March, private room £20, wefeast.co.uk
Skin saviour
March may be here, but chances are the weather is still far from clement. Thank goodness for Dr Dulcamara, whose chill-defying hand creams and lip balms come in little porcelain pots with elegant Victorian-inspired designs. The good doctor also does old-school shaving kits for the chaps. £30, potsandpotions.co.uk
Ahead by a nose
You've got to hand it to Comic Relief. Nearly 30 years since it launched, the charity has lost none of its power to stir the sleepy behemoth that is British generosity. Stella McCartney's new range of T-shirts sees Kate Moss and Marilyn Monroe getting the Red Nose treatment. £14.99, available at TK Maxx, at least £8 goes to Comic Relief
Equine dining
It was bound to happen sooner or later – capitalising on the recent stir over unexpected traces of horse meat turning up in the most unusual places, a restaurateur has decided to take on the neigh-sayers by openly and gleefully putting (perfectly safe) horse burgers on the menu. They are, insists Josh Gale, head chef at Host in Bishop's Stortford, really rather tasty. Why not see for yourself? £7.50, hostrestaurant.co.uk
