Harry Potter cake wreaks of spongy death and destruction
Wednesday 13 July 2011
Cake wizard Duff Goldman took to
Twitter Tuesday to share photos of the Harry Potter cake he created for the movie premiere in New York City Monday night.
Goldman's bakery Charm City Cakes recreated Hogwarts - the school of witchcraft and wizardry - in cake and icing form for the final cinematic installment of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which took place at the Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center.
The cake is presumably a depiction of Hogwarts during a full-blown wizard war with bombed out turrets and scorched towers.
Actor Rupert Grint who plays Potter's best friend Ron Weasley cut the first slice.
It's not the first time Charm City Cakes has been recruited to create a cake for the Harry Potter franchise. They also created a cake for the fifth installment of Harry Potter in Los Angeles.
The bakery is featured on the Food Network show Ace of Cakes.
