The future of the 'Waffler,' a waffle maker that creates Belgium waffles and waffles shaped into cups referred to as 'waffle shots', is in your hands.
Created by Quirky, a social product development company, the no-mess Waffler is currently listed at pre-sale for $68/€53; if 1220 are sold then they will be produced and delivered. As of September 7, only 83 have been pre-sold.
If you are in need of a waffle maker and are unable to wait for a thousand other people to share your enthusiasm for the Waffler, you might want to take a look at Everythingkitchens.com's waffle maker list that includes the Chef's Choice International Heart Waffle Maker ($49.95/€39) and Waring Pro Waffle Maker - Double Belgian Waffle Maker ($95.99/€74.55).
Quirky works by vetting submitted concepts, testing and improving designs for function and production then pre-sells a new product like the Waffler to determine if it will have a real life. Starbucks' My Idea site works much the same way by engaging Starbuck-aholics to weigh in on new products and services.
