Though celebrity chef Thomas Keller's temporary pop-up version of French Laundry will only be open for 10 days when it arrives in the UK, it will be no less exacting.

In an interview with industry publication BigHospitality Monday, Keller revealed details on the restaurant, which will open in London's luxury department store Harrods.

To replicate the original experience, Keller said he will be flying in fixtures, fittings and signature dinnerware to London for the first service.

Keller's flagship restaurant French Laundry in Napa Valley boasts three Michelin stars and is one of the gold standard bearers of haute cuisine in the US.

The British outpost - Keller's first in the UK - will open October 1 and mirror the Californian menu, featuring some of his classic, signature dishes, plus a selection of new creations, he told BigHospitality. He plans to serve 70 covers.

Every day at the Napa Valley location, Keller creates two unique nine-course tasting menus - the chef's tasting and the tasting of vegetables - where no single ingredient is ever repeated.

According to a Bloomberg report, a nine-course meal at the restaurant will be £250 (€285).

Unlike other high-profile US chefs like Mario Batali and Wolfgang Puck who have ambassador restaurants around the world, Keller has chosen to keep his ventures within the confines of the US. He said there are no plans to open a permanent British location yet.

Both Batali and Puck have outposts in Singapore - now considered a gastronomic hot spot in Asia. Batali opened Osteria Mozza while Puck's steakhouse CUT will be opening in London September 1 at 45 Park Lane.
