Saturday 27 August 2011
Valerie Bertinelli, the latest middle-aged TV celeb of 1980s fame recruited to a weight loss program, will be releasing her first cookbook next year.
In her latest blog post, Bertinelli said her new book is tentatively titled One Dish at a Time - an allusion to the title of the 1980s TV show that made her famous , One Day at A Time - and will be a mix of her own family recipes and other healthy dishes that helped her lose 40 pounds (18 kg) as a spokesperson for Jenny Craig.
"This is a project that is a lifelong dream of mine and I can't wait to share it with you," she wrote.
Rodale Books bought the world rights to the title, which is scheduled for release in the fall of next year.
Bertinelli has also published personal memoirs like Losing It: And Gaining My Life Back One Pound at a Time and Finding It: And Satisfying my Hunger for Life Without Opening the Fridge.
She took over the role of celebrity weight loss success story from another 1980s relic, Kirstie Alley of Cheers.
Alley lost 75 pounds (34 kg) during her three-year stint as spokesmodel and also penned a memoir, How to Lose Your Ass and Regain Your Life: Reluctant Confessions of a Big-Butted Star.
