Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair
The 3rd annual event boasts all things alcoholic to drink and "friends of wine" like specialty food items (baked goods, sweets, nuts, dairy products, seafood, pasta, cooking oils and preserved foods). A highlight of the fair is the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition, the world's first "authentically Asian and largest pan-Asian" "wine, spirit and food pairing competition," which includes awards for Best Wine with Sashimi, Dim Sum, Kung Pao Chicken, Braised Abalone and Peking Duck. The professional trade event is open to the public (adults aged 18+ only) on November 6 with tickets priced at HK$200/€19.
The 57th annual Zurich wine expo offers a variety of city-wide wine tastings and knowledge-building experiences with winemakers from more obscure regions globally with a focus on German wines. Various events are free; to see the lineup go to:
With Oktoberfest over, European market gets down to the business of beers and soda. Over 34,000 professionals are expected to review over 1,400 new products and technologies for making the best beverages with a focus on industry trends, logistics and marketing. SIAL Middle East

SIAL is a professional global marketplace that focuses on innovation and trends in the food industry every two years. The first SIAL took place in Paris, France 46 years ago, and the event continues to introduce cutting-edge products from over 185 nations. This year's program will introduce over 350 new products to the Middle East. Industry professionals are required to pre-register for their free pass.

The 27th international exhibition for food and beverage is the most important event for the professional trade in Israel. Israfood 2010 will take place during "Israeli Food & Hospitality Week" and is co-located with Hotex, an expo for hospitality sector equipment, services & technologies. Over 20,000 invited guests are expected and children under 18 years are not welcome. In addition to stores, restaurants and hotels buying up new food products Chef Jean-Michel Bannwart, a senior lecturer at the French school Ecole Lenotre, will lead culinary workshops.
4th International Date Palm Festival

The six-day family celebration of dates includes a showcase of the varietals of dates, a date-centric culinary competition, tastings and a host of cultural events such as traditional dance shows, art/photography exhibit, films and Kid Zone. Plus date experts are available to share recipes, health tips and answer any date questions you might have. Entrance fee is AED10/€2.
BevME, the fourth annual Beverages Middle East Congress, will focus on consumer trends, new products and innovation to meet the region's demand for healthier and green products delivering nutrients, energy and freshness. Ingredients Russia 2010
Russia's 13th International Exhibition for Food Ingredients, Additives & Flavourings is the nation's largest showcase for cutting-edge technologies. Highlights include: "Food Ingredients of the 21st Century," a competition for innovations "Ingredient of the Year" as well as a pavilion devoted to innovations. The event expects around 10,000 visitors from 34 nations with the majority being Russians. The trade event is free, but e-tickets are required.
Annapoorna - World of Food India
The tradeshow is a business-to-business marketplace for hypermarkets and importers with this year's theme "India's Food Business: Set to Boom!" The event itself has been booming and expects to exceed 2009's 5400+ trade visitors and 160 exhibitors from 14 nations worldwide. New products are expected to be introduced ranging from staple foods to fine and health foods including alcohol, grocery goods, sweets, seafood, spices and additives. BBC Good Food Show Winter

UK's biggest food and beverage celebration brings your favorite cooking shows to life with the country's top celebrity chefs. The focus will be on holiday treats and chefs Gordon Ramsay, Rick Stein, Gary Rhodes, James Martin and the Hairy Bikers will be sharing "festive recipe ideas". Plus in addition to popular events like MasterClasses, Inovation Test and MasterChef Restaurant, new programs will be launched like The World Cheese Award and BBC Radio's Food & Farming Award. Over 150,000 trade visitors from China, Japan, Korea, Central America and Southeast Asia looking to enter the Chinese and Asian market head to Taipei for this series of food and drink shows. Great Macaroni & Cheese Bake-Off

The Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula host a day of sophisticated mac and cheese pairings with their wines (Rieslings, Pinot Grigios, Chardonnays). The mac and cheese dishes are new inventions by 14 local chefs. Tickets are $25 (€18) and the event takes place 11am-5pm.

Vinitech is a key wine industry event that covers all aspects of growing, production and distribution since 1977. Over 40,000 professional participants will attend this year's program from 68 countries. The event goes beyond vines to vegetable and fruit farming and equipment with SIFEL. New technologies in farming and bottling are to be highlighted in the Innovations section and Ideas Forum plus the "Prix du Public" will be launched where the public votes online for the best innovations. Vinitech is also held in Santiago, Chile and Shandong Province, China.

The 5th international chocolate festival is a free event to celebrate the finest chocolate houses from France, Italy, Austria, Denmark, Ghana, USA, Switzerland and Germany. The market is located in the old city's center and is a cornucopia of all things chocolate including chocolate massages, art, tastings, cooking courses, menus, pairings with wine and whisky.
The 8th annual food and wine exposition of India welcomes 100,000 foodies to sample a thousand products ranging from wines, spirits, cheese and chocolates to meats and exotic fruits. This year's free program includes grapes crushing, chocolate fashion show, food art, demos and celebrity chef cook-offs.
The Gluten-Free Culinary Summit, Armchair Edition

The fifth annual summit has become venue-free and will offer 30 45-minute telephone cooking and baking seminars (Intro to Gluten-Free Flours, Muffins with a Mission, Beyond Pizza and Pasta) over five months. Each seminar costs $19-25 (€14-18) and you can design your own experience and submit questions to the host in advance of a session.
