The 2010 World Pastry Forum takes place in Arizona, USA on June 30 and, with Foodbuzz's Project Food Blog beginning in early August, all contestants have to be registered by then with at least 30 days of blogging to qualify.

If you would like to join the first Foodbuzz Project Food Blog, a competition to find the ‘Next Food Blog Star,' you will need to register online before early August and become a ‘Foodbuzz Featured Publisher': basically fill out an online form and meet the blogging criteria (have at least a month-old blog, with 10 posts in English, focused on food and dining). The winner will receive a $10,000 (€8,111) prize and a one-year contract with Foodbuzz plus the title of Food Blog Star. Foodbuzz exprects 4000 bloggers to compete in nine challenges that will be judged by a panel including Dana Cowin, the Editor-In-Chief of Food & Wine magazine.

A series of how-to professional pastry workshops with three-hour demonstration courses and 6.5-hour hands-on classes ranging from Whimsical Cake and Competition Showpieces 101 to Liquid Desserts and the Art of Mixology. National Cherry Festival

The 84th National Cherry Festival is billed as "Awesomely Awesome and Fun" and expects 500,000 visitors during the eight-day event to enjoy all things cherry including air shows, bike tours and the crowning of the Cherry Queen.
2010 World Pastry Team Championship

This year's theme is ‘Childhood' and teams from Denmark, UK, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea and USA will be competing for the title ‘World Pastry Champion' by preparing bonbons, entremets, entremet glace, petits gateaux, and plated desserts judged on artistry and degustation. This international professional wine event takes place every three years and is hosted by the 14th annual Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference (AWITC) and Wine Industry Suppliers Australia (WISA). Approximately 4,000 wine industry professionals discuss new products and technology and the discussions could lead to more screw tops, new greener packaging and processes. Canadian Club's 'Hide a Case'

Canadian Club (CC) has revived its 'Hide a Case' campaign to find eight adventurous North Americans to hunt down nine remaining cases of aged whisky around the world. The original campaign took place between 1967-1991 where 25 cases of CC Whisky were hidden all over the world; to date only 16 have been found. To compete for the $100,000 (€81,273) prize and 'trip of a lifetime' you must first complete a round of "brain power and speed" and clue-solving tasks before July 9 when round two begins. And the process includes pleading your case in a video. Oxford Symposium on Food & Cookery 2010

The 29th annual symposium will focus on the history and culture of ‘cured, fermented and smoked foods' with 220 international scholars, journalists, chefs, scientists, sociologists and anthropologists. Considered to be the oldest and most important event addressing food and cookery with academic papers. Past themes have included ‘fat' and ‘nurture' and 2011 will be ‘celebrations' and 2012 ‘stuffed and wrapped foods'. For more information:
China International Alcoholic Drinks Expo (CIADE)
The 4th annual CIADE is China's leading wine and alcohol conference and expo. This year more than 900 alcoholic drinks distributors, 400 wine producers and more than 26,000 visitors from around the world are expected to explore new products and trends.

The 11th annual International Food and Beverage Trade Fair, is a professional regional expo with this year's focus on ‘Serving you a Multi-Million Dollar Global Marketplace' with an Agro-Bio business conference and co-located with the events Green Food Technology and Food Future with new trends and technologies for packaging and producing foods. There will be over 600 booths representing 29 nations from Armenia to Iran to Namibia with a range of products: Halal, frozen foods, pastries, cured meats and much more.
