Eataly opens

Turin's Eataly, a slow food Italian market with artisanal foods, opens in New York City with six distinct new restaurants devoted solely to meat, fish, pasta and pizza, vegetables, a panino bar and a brewery-gastropub. The mega center, located at the Toy Building (200 Fifth Ave. between 23rd and 24th streets), is the world's largest artisanal Italian food and wine hall and was cooked up by celebrity chefs Mario Batali, Lidia Bastianich, Joe Bastianich and Oscar Farinetti, the founder of Eataly.
