Classic strategy 'Syndicate' turns shooter
Tuesday 13 September 2011
Syndicate, once a cyberpunk-themed third person strategy game, is to return early in 2012 as a cyberpunk-themed first-person action game on PC, PS3 and 360.
With the futuristic Deus Ex: Human Revolution only just released (to critical acclaim, no less), Syndicate is differentiating itself with four-player online that features missions from the 1993 original.
Syndicate is being developed by Starbreeze Studios, known for their work on The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and The Darkness.
Since then, some of the Starbreeze staff left to form MachineGames in 2009, now part of ZeniMax Media - which includes Fallout 3 and Skyrim's developer Bethesda, Rage's Id Software, and Dishonored's Arkane.
