Console demos incoming for 'Fight Night Champion,' 'Crysis 2,' 'Bulletstorm'
Tuesday 25 January 2011
Electronic Arts has a handful of demos lined up on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with a
Crysis 2 and
Bulletstorm double-header starting January 25 to be followed by a bout with
Fight Night Champion, available via Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network.
The Crysis 2 demo is to offer a slice of multiplayer action on Xbox 360, with two game modes playable on the Skyline map: Team Instant Action (team deathmatch) and Crash Site (king of the hill).
Bulletstorm's demo shows off the game's score attack Echo Mode, letting players mess around with the skillshot system in order to best their friends' top point tallies. That'll be on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Plans for a Fight Night Champion demo were revealed during a live chat session on Electronic Arts' website. The demo is scheduled for February 1, a month before the game's March 1 release date.
Bulletstorm's out first, February 22, the same day as Killzone 3 on PS3. Its caricatured and brutal violence is a trait shared by May's Duke Nukem Forever (360 PC PS3).
The boxing of Fight Night Champion squares off against WWE All Stars' wrestling, bound for March 29 on 360 and PS3 as well as PlayStation 2, Wii, and even PSP, while those looking for a more fantastical approach would be better served by Marvel vs Capcom 3 (360 PS3, February 15).
Crysis 2 is due March 22, and if it fails to pass muster on PS3 then there's the military tactics of April's SOCOM 4 instead, while long-awaited Brink (360 PC PS3) boasts of a more intuitive, athletic approach to the genre. FEAR 3 looms in May.
Diving in at the deep end is no excuse for shirking the style stakes
