Current Twitter trends: Bondan Prakoso, Meteor Shower, iOS

The name of Indian singer-songwriter "Bondan Prakoso" has reached the number one position on Twitter's trending topics on the morning of August 12.

Graphic novel series " Scott Pilgrim," and the similarly titled cinema adaptation, " Scott Pilgrim" vs. the World, moves down one place to number two while science fiction blockbuster " Inception" moves up two places to number six.

The hashtags "itsallfunandgamesuntil," "hornyforjustin" and "smileforjustin" are trending in third, fourth and seventh positions.

"Ramadan," a month-long Islamic observance that involves fasting from sunrise to sunset and refraining from activities that are deemed excessive, is unchanged in fifth place.

"Meteor Shower" jumps into eighth place as Twitter users start looking up to the sky trying to spot the Perseid meteor shower.

Apple released iOS 4.0.2 for iPhone and iPod touch and iOS 3.2.2 for iPad on August 11, a software update that patches two vulnerabilities that were used to develop a jailbreak hack for the devices. "iOS" has since shot into ninth place on the chart as microbloggers discuss the pros and cons of iOS device security vs freedom.

"Apple Patches Holes with iOS Updates," announced iPhone users concerned about the security of their device, while renowned iPhone hackers @iphone_dev tweeted, "iOS 4.0.2 is out. Don't accept it! Please wait for further detail."

Indonesian Twitter users have been typing smiley faces (:-D) before using the "retweet" abbreviation (RT) and forgetting to leave a space in between (:-DRT). Those posts have resulted in "DRT" becoming the tenth topic on Twitter's most talked about topics list.
