In second, third and fourth places are the memes "#myweakness," "#weedcommandments" and "#youretooold."
World renowned British graffiti artist "Banksy" enters the charts in fifth place. Microbloggers are discussing the opening sequence of a Simpsons episode that was storyboarded by the artist.
"Wow, tonight's Simpsons couch gag was done by Banksy, and somehow, Fox approved it," tweeted one surprised microblogger.
The name of Indian cricket player "Sachin" "Tendulkar" is making Twitter's headlines after he hit his 49th century in a Test cricket match against Australia.
"Thou Shall" is in seventh place as Twitter users talk about the things their followers should or should not do.
Canadians have been celebrating "Thanksgiving" on Twitter by tweeting, "It's Canadian Thanksgiving, the day we give thanks we're not American."
Microbloggers are using Twitter to complain about how cold they are, pushing the Dutch word for cold, "Koud," into tenth place.
