The highly-anticipated Zelda game for the Wii, which may be the console's swansong. Features aerial combat, exquisite graphics and 1:1 sword fighting. Out 14 November.

2. Dance Central 2 (Xbox 360)

£32, asda.co.uk

Get those hips swinging to Lady Gaga et al. Team up in Perform It mode or go head-to-head in a dance-off. Remember, though, you'll need a Kinect controller.

3. Fifa 12 (Xbox 360)

£41.97, hmv.com

This year's release seems likely to prove as popular as ever. Features a physics engine which gives super-realistic player movements and a fine level of responsiveness.

4. Forza Motorsport 4 (Xbox 360)

£39.99, comet.co.uk

Graphics are jaw-dropping and players can rewind time on the track. A new speedpack, out in two weeks, will supply 10 new cars.

5. Zumba Fitness Wii Bundle (Wii)

£21.70, tescoentertainment.com

OK, so Zumba came out earlier this year but the fitness-game phenomenon, which has ruled the sales charts, is like a gym class in a box.

6. Jet Pack Joyride (iOS)

69p, apple.com

From the creators of the addictive Fruit Ninja comes loud-mouthed Barry Steakfries, who's out to settle scores with some evil scientists. At just 69p, this is a beast of a game.

7. Modern Warfare 3 (PS3)

£39.90, amazon.co.uk

First-person shoot-'em-up follows the format of MW2 and sees players waging war across Europe and the USA. Out on 8 November – and expect record-breaking queues.

8. Batman Arkham City (PS3)

£34.97, amazon.co.uk

From Rocksteady games comes the follow-up to 2009's hugely popular Batman Arkham Asylum, which sees players grappling with foes such as Two-Face and Mr Freeze.

9. Battlefield 3 (PC)

£32.75, gameswop.com

Take control of a tank or a jet and swoop across maps, destroying buildings – which collapse in crazy detail – and baddies, as you go. A must-have for PC game fans.

10. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (PS3)

£37.99, sainsburysentertainment.co.uk

New locations, cool hand-to-hand combat, cinematic graphics and plot – this is as good as action gets.
