Gameplay shown in second 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' trailer
Friday 11 March 2011
There's a new trailer for the
Transformers: Dark of the Moon video game, showing more of what it should be like to play through the prologue to Michael Bay's July 2011 film, and introducing two additional characters.
Following on from Transformers: War for Cybertron, Dark of the Moon sets up a typical us-and-them scenario as Autobots clash with Decepticons in both vehicular and robot form.
The video introduces Autobot tank Warpath and Decepticon's winged servant Laserbeak, who join established characters such as Ironhide, Bumblebee, Ratchet, Optimus Prime and Megatron.
Far from being on the run, Autobots clash with Decepticons in locations around the world - South America, Siberia and, for robots disgused as cars, where else but automobile manufacture central, Detroit, USA?
Dark of the Moon has been given a June-August 2011 release date on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with alternative versions in the works for Wii, DS, and 3DS.
That means it can give a wider berth to May's fellow film tie-ins Lego Pirates of the Carribean and Kung Fu Panda 2.
Alice: Madness Returns, a riff on Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, is placed a little closer on June 14.
