As the hype around new franchise Advanced Warfare mounts, Call of Duty Ghosts have had their final say with their latest DLC pack, Nemesis, which has enough new features – and a pinch of old times – to keep things interesting.

Introducing four new maps – each with its own unique field order – there is plenty to explore. Starting with Goldrush, an abandoned gold mine which sees two carts roam around the map. Enemies often try and crouch and hide in these carts (which bullets can penetrate), as the track winds up and down like the rollercoaster you've always craved in a first-person shooter. Completing the field order here unleashes a howling pack of wolves, similar to the killstreak back on Black Ops.

Subzero is next on the horizon, on an entirely different landscape of a Canadian submarine base. The platform is left eerily empty, until enemies come flooding in on this medium-sized map of course. Unleash a “mysterious terror” upon completing your unique field order. You’ll enjoy it.

The smallest map in Call of Duty history, the biggest in fans’ hearts. Last but certainly not least it’s Showtime, or as you and I probably know it Shipment from Modern Warfare 4. My pick of the four, simply for its fast-paced gameplay. Spawn, shoot, shoot, die; spawn, shoot, duck behind a container, die. Racking up the kills is easy, preserving streaks isn’t.

Fan of extinction? Well there’s also a fourth installment for the creepy co-op shooter. Titled Exodus, players can choose their own escape rout from the alien underworld, but will be faced by enemies with new powers including mind control psionic attacks.

Many CoD fanatics have claimed Ghosts was going stale soon after its next generation release, but something feels different about Nemesis. It won’t let you down.

Call of Duty Ghosts: Nemesis is available now on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Purchase it as an individual pack, or pick it up as part of the Season Pass for Ghosts. If you’ve already got a Season Pass you will be able to download the latest DLC without further purchase.
