The fictitious island of Panau that serves as the sandbox setting for Just Cause 2 is amagnificent creation, comprising lush beaches, snow-capped mountains, crowded cities and dense jungles. After an initial introduction to parachute-packing hero Rico Rodriguez, you’re free to explore and wreak havoc while undertaking missions, which are usually shady jobs for local militias. Combat takes the all-guns-blazing approach while Rico’s grapple hook is indispensable when traversing the island, even acting as a weapon when deployed tactically. A brash and fun shooter, if at times a little long-winded.
