Super Bowl 2015 result, score and other details correctly predicted by Madden NFL video game
Game knew that Tom Brady would be named most valuable player
In a computer game last week, the New England Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 to win the Super Bowl. Last night, at the real game in Arizona, it happened again — Madden NFL 15 not only predicted the winner but the exact score.
Every year, EA Sports runs a simulation of the Super Bowl on its best-selling American football simulation game. It usually correctly picks the winner — getting nine of the last 12 — but this year it got the result and many key details of the game right.
It correctly forecast that Tom Brady, the New England Patriots’ quarterback, would be named most valuable player in the Super Bowl. In both the virtual and real Super Bowl, he managed that achievement by scoring four touchdowns.
It also knew that the Seattle Seahawks would have a surge of strength and be leading 24-14 in the third quarter, and predicted the play that ultimately finished off the Patriots’ late surge to win.
Madden NFL 15 is available now for Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. Madden NFL 15 is also now available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
