You might have wondered if it was just you, but no, Google Calendar is down for millions of other users across the UK, US, and Europe too. According to Google’s App Status Dashboard the calendar has been down since 2.47 pm BST.

Anyone that tries to visit the Calendar will only find a single message in several languages stating that the service is temporarily unavailable and to please try back later. After your perfectly organised life has crumbled around you would probably be the best time.

The status of the app isn't being classed as a complete service outage but rather a service disruption so it appears it's begining to slowly come back to life. A further update to the App Status Dashboard at 3.35 pm reports that Google is still investigating the issue and plans to provide an update on or before 4.30 pm detailing when they expect the problem to be resolved. We'll update as more information is revealed.

UPDATE: Google has provided an update on the App Status Dashboard at 4.33 pm, stating that service has been restored for some users and a resolution is expected for all users in "the near future", though this time frame is an estimate and could change.
