High-tech product releases announced the week ending February 2 include Sony's Next Generation Portable, a mouse that can be used on your couch, Sony's Cyber-shot HX100V camera, TDK's TH-ST800 high-end headphones, Rain Design's iRest for iPad stand, Ten One Design's analog joystick for iPad, and an iPad case with a built-in keyboard.

A next-generation portable games console
Sony's Next Generation Portable (NGP), aka the "PSP2," brings features from both Sony's PSP and PlayStation3 entertainment systems to offer users rich gaming experiences and enhanced social connectivity. The portable games console has both WiFi and 3G network connectivity, enabling gamers to connect, share and play with friends regardless of location. It features a higher resolution 5-inch OLED display and both a multitouch pad on the rear and a front touch display. The NGP is set to debut at the end of 2011. Pricing is yet to be announced.

A mouse that's made for the couch

Logitech's Couch Mouse M515 (aka the Wireless Mouse M515 in Europe) is a mouse that has been designed to be used on soft surfaces like your couch, your bed, your carpet or your lap. It has up to two years of battery life and only turns on when it senses your hand. The mouse also comes with a sealed bottom case to reduce fabric fuzz collecting in the sensor opening. The Logitech Couch Mouse M515 is priced at $49.99 and is available now.

A camera with a bigger zoom and less blur
Sony's Cyber-shot HX100V is a DSLR-like point-and-shoot camera with a massive 30x optical zoom. It has Optical SteadyShot image stabilization with Active Mode so you can walk and shoot with less blur. Additional features include full HD (1080p) video recording at 50 frames per second, a 16.2 MP Exmor R CMOS Sensor, a 3" LCD, a built in GPS/Compass, 3D Sweep Panorama, and a manual ring for controlling focus and zoom. The Cyber-shot HX100V will be available from April. No price has been announced.

High-end leather headphones with a built-in equalizer
TDK's TH-ST800 high performance headphones are for audiophiles who want direct control over the sounds they listen to. The headphones come with high performance 50mm drivers for enhanced clarity, on-ear volume and mute controls, an in-line equalizer with visible display for complete control over bass and treble levels, and a leather and matte metallic finish that makes the headphones look as good as they sound. The TH-ST800 headphones are due for a March 1 release. The price is reported to be around 25,000 Yen (€220, $310).

An ergonomic stand for your tablet

Rain Design's iRest is an innovative stand for your iPad. The ergonomic tablet attachment comes with soft foam cushions and a torque hinge for easy viewing angle adjustment. The Rain Design iRest of iPad can be purchased for $49.90 and is available now.

A see-through analog joystick that enhances gaming on touchscreen devices
Fling is an analog joystick for your iPad. The "invisible" joystick turns gaming on the iPad into a tactile experience, providing precision maneuvering with haptic feedback. The Ten One Design Fling is priced at $19.95 and is available now.

An iPad case with a built-in keyboard

The ZaggMate with keyboard is an iPad case with a Bluetooth keyboard. The case is made from Aircraft-grade aluminum to match the iPad and comes with special function keys for music, volume, slideshow and search. The Zagg ZaggMate with keyboard is priced at $99.99 and is available now.
