A video of the latest social experiment from the Improv Everywhere collective that encouraged New Yorkers to "say something nice" has gone viral on YouTube.
The video documents a social experiment conducted by the Improv Everywhere group and the Guggenheim Museum as part of the upcoming stillspotting nyc exhibition.
The experiment involved attaching a megaphone to a podium inscribed with the simple instructions "say something nice" in public places across New York.
As the footage shows, residents of the city that never sleeps reacted well to the experiment, using the podium to shout compliments and kind words including " you're all wonderful," "I love everbody that is out here" and even "you with the blue umbrella...I really like it, it's pretty."
Since being uploaded to YouTube on August 22 the video has been viewed nearly 300,000 times, attracted over 14,000 "likes," been featured on influential tech blog Mashable.com and been highlighted on the blog YouTube Trends.
