The International Consumer Electronics Show will take place in January, marking the start of the 2010 technology events calendar. Expect to find 3D TV, mobile communications technologies, the real-time web and advancements in green technologies showcased at the majority of events in the agenda. 2010 is also a milestone year for Macworld Expo and CTIA Wireless which will celebrate their 25th anniversaries and for COMPUTEX Taipei and Hong Kong Electronics Fair, now each in their 30th year.

The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the world's largest consumer technology trade show. It is a highlight on most technology-minded people's calendar because it welcomes numerous high-profile technology companies and is the launch-place for many groundbreaking new gadgets and high-tech products. In 2010 the show will focus on green technology, with more than 30 exhibitors coming to the event to demonstrate environmentally friendly product concepts. Mobile Applications will also feature en masse at the event as analysts are predicting Apps to be one of the hottest global technology trends for 2010.

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. TED is a non-profit organization that aims to spread ideas in the interests of global knowledge and inspiration. The annual conference is an invite-only event that showcases ideas and projects from the most creative minds in the world. TED2010 will be spread across four days and will explore developments in new technologies, creative design, future concepts and economic innovation taking place across the world. The theme of TED 2010 is "What the World Needs Now, TED2010." Many of the talks will be broadcast on the internet for free.

Founded in 1985, the Macworld Conference and Expo is the largest annual Apple Macintosh event in the world. Well over 28,000 people have already pre-registered for Macworld 2010. Hundreds of companies offering dedicated Mac products and services will be at the event to share their expert advice and show off their latest technology. There will be a strong focus on free training sessions and paid education tracks in 2010, in part to draw focus away from the fact that it will also be the first year in which Apple will not attend Macworld Expo.

In 2009, 4,300 exhibitors from 69 countries and more than 400,000 visitors made their way to Hannover for CeBIT. 2010's event is expected to be even bigger. Visitors to the world's largest digital IT and telecommunications event will be able to take part in a forum of "international networking, knowledge transfer and trend-setting." CeBIT 2010 highlights will include a new "Next Level 3D" floor space, international demonstrations of green technologies and a new presentation called "Advanced Office & Conference Solutions."

The Game Developers Conference (GDC) is the world's largest industry-only gaming event. More than 17,000 professionals are expected to gather at the GDC in 2010. The event aims to heighten the awareness of gaming around the world and encourages industry members to form local and global ties with other members in the game development community. In 2010 there will be over 400 lectures, panels, tutorials and round-table discussions covering the diverse sectors of games - including gaming consoles, handheld devices, cell phones, and of course online and computer games. The 30th edition of Computex Taipei, is organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council and the Taiwan Computer Association. It is now the largest computer exhibition in Asia, second in the world only to CeBIT in Germany. Many large computing firms have research and development centers or production factories in Taiwan and they come to Computex Taipei to launch their new products. Almost 120,000 visitors attended Computex Taipei in 2009 to see products and services from over 1,700 exhibitors.

Heralded as the world's biggest electronics event, the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (HKTDC) showcases electronic products and services from across the globe. In 2009 the event attracted over 2,800 exhibitors, breaking the fair's previous exhibitor attendance records. In 2010 the HKTDC will celebrate its 30th anniversary. Highlights of the 2010 HKTCD include a dedicated showcase of top products from leading brands in the "Hall of Fame," innovative technologies, prototypes and ideas for the future displayed in the "Technology Exchange Zone" and specialized Electronics Seminars presented by key industry experts. ElectronicAsia 2010, a fair for electronic components, electronics production and display technologies will run concurrently to the event.

SITEX is Singapore's longest-running IT event. Consumers have been visiting the expo since 1988 to purchase electronic goods at producer direct prices and to talk one on one with the companies developing the latest technological innovations. In 2009, 859,040 local and international visitors came through the doors. More than 500 information communication and consumer electronic product manufacturers will be at the 2010 show to launch their products and show off their most recent inventions.

Approximately 2,400 participants from 50 countries attended the sixth edition of LeWeb in Paris in 2009. A healthy balance of start-ups, entrepreneurs and established organizations took part in the 2009 event with representatives from companies and organizations such as Google, Microsoft Corporation, MySpace, Facebook, Nokia, Opera Software, Twitterfeed.com, Seesmic, Creative Commons, TweetMeme and Shazam Entertainment giving keynotes and participating in round-table discussions.
