Are you one of the million people that received a Google Wave invite?

More than 1 million people around the world have been invited to try out Google's real-time communication tool, Google Wave.

The social network-cum-"email of the future" (or as some like to call it - the "service that was invented to make teenagers experience the same feelings as their grandparents do when they try and use the internet") has been going viral on the internet for months with social networkers anxious to try it out.

People across the world have been requesting an invite to Google's Wave and Google announced it had answered more than one million of those pleas on December 7.

"We've been working to increase the capacity of our preview setup and have sent invitations to everyone who requested an invite through our online form. If you'd like to request an invitation, you can still sign up," wrote Grim Iversen, product manager of Google Wave in a December 7 blog post.
