Xbox has just launched its 10-day long Black Friday sale in the US, offering hefty discounts on games, movies, and console bundles - and the UK can expect similar discounts soon.

The Black Friday sale launched today for Xbox Live Gold subscribers, and will run until 30 November.

People without a Gold subscription will be able to access the discounts on 24 November, but for the duration of the sale, Xbox One or 360 owners will be able to upgrade to Gold for just $1 for the first month of membership.

Downloads of high-profile games like Battlefield 4 Premium Edition, Grand Theft Auto V and loads of Forza titles will be discounted by up to 60 per cent for the duration of the sale.

All in all, there's around 50 discounted titles available both for the Xbox One and 360, with a few extra weekend deals coming out on 27 November.

Those in the market for a new console will also be able to take advantage of the discounts - from 26 to 30 November, certain console bundles will available from £299 (£195).

The news of this hefty American sale is basically torture to UK gamers - but fortunately, the deals should be making their way across the pond soon.

The UK version of the Black Friday site isn't giving anything away at the moment, saying simply: "Black Friday will be here soon and bigger than ever."

The US Black Friday sale has actually come a little early - the day itself is on 27 November, so there's a chance we could see the UK sale launch closer to the actual time.
