Fancy yourself as a bit of an Apple Macintosh fan? Then you'll more than likely be interested in tuning in to the live coverage of Apple's Wednesday October 20 press event.

Rumours suggest Apple is working on new versions of its super-slim MacBook Air laptop with some bloggers hinting that the company might unveil a smaller 11.6 inch MacBook air during the event. There is also chatter about an updated version of Apple's existing 13.3 inch MacBook Air and MacBook laptop line.

The most likely topic of conversation at the event however, is the next version of Mac OS X 10.7 (tentatively called Lion).

Mac fans add that Apple's iLife and iWork applications are also due for an update and could feature at the event.

According to an active reader poll on CNET, the top product on consumer's Mac wish list for Apple's press event is currently an iPhone 4 on Verizon Wireless (24 per cent). The categories of New MacBook Air and Intel i3-powered MacBooks are tied at 16 per cent while FaceTime in a new iChat is just behind at 15 per cent.
