YouTube, Facebook and the Nobel Foundation are giving members of the public the opportunity to ask questions of some of the 2010 Nobel laureates.

Questions for the Nobel winners can be submitted by video or text through the Nobel channel on YouTube at youtube.com/thenobelprize or on Facebook at facebook.com/Nobelprize.org.

The deadline to submit questions is November 1 and the laureates will respond to selected questions in December.

Among those prepared to answer questions are the 2010 Nobel laureates in physics, chemistry, literature and economics, the Nobel Foundation said.

It noted that the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize winner, jailed Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo, would not be able to participate "due to current circumstances."
