'Sonic Generations' collector's edition contains 'gold ring'

Along with one of the iconic gold rings that Sonic collects throughout his adventures,
Sonic Generations Collector's Edition includes a statuette, art book, and historical documentaries.
The European bundle is part of Sonic's 20th Anniversary celebrations which, in Sonic Generations, sees the original Classic Sonic team up with a more contemporary Modern Sonic.
That statuette shows Classic and Modern together, and there's also a voucher for downloadable content, most notably a mini-game pinball level based on Sonic the Hedgehog 2's Casino Nights stage.
Together, that adds a chunk of change to Sonic Generation's standard price - the game is marked at around £50 or €60 new, with the Collector's Edition totalling £99 or €99.
Sonic's not the only one celebrating a special birthday this year, as Nintendo's Legend of Zelda series is 25 years old.
The one-time Sega rival has a gold Wiimote controller for a Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword pack, though in this instance the company is careful to clarify that said item "will not contain any actual precious metals."
Sonic Generations for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 launches November 1 in North America (November 4 in European regions), with a 3DS version following at a lower price by the end of the month, and all three on sale in Japan on December 8.
