Survivalism, space battles, and spells: PC game deals for August 20-22 and beyond

Steam's big weekend deal is on the two best entries in
STALKER's apocalyptic survival series, while there are specials on
Civilization IV,
King Arthur, and
Total Annhilation at GamersGate,
Gratuitous Space Battles at Impulse, and both
Gothic II and
Painkiller at Good Old games, among others.

GamersGate also chop the price of their THQ games pack, offering 17 titles for €49. The difference between that and Impulse's 19 item bundle is that where GamersGate pick Saints Row 2 and Frontlines, Impulse go for Full Spectrum Warrior and Supreme Commander plus their two respective expansions.

GamersGate offer the better deal on last year's well-received Men of War, and it's cheaper to buy the Spellforce 2 Gold bundle than either of the included expansions on their own.

However, it's Good Old Games who come up trumps for the first in the Spellforce fantasy roleplaying series, for those that can shop in either dollars or euros.

As part of their week-long promo related to Germany's Gamescom expo, they're also discounting Painkiller, whose makers are now working on February 2011's big budget Bulletstorm for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
