The hottest Christmas gifts for tech lovers

According to web and search analyst, Experian Hitwise, the hottest gifts for the technology lover in your household this Christmas include Apple's iPhone 4, Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Apple's iPad.

The list of hot products for Christmas was compiled by monitoring the latest online and offline behavior trends and drawing insights from past Christmas shopping habits, explained Hitwise.

"No real surprise to see Apple's iPhone at the top of the list," said Robin Goad, research director, Hitwise, UK on September 21, "but as you can see ... it is facing increasing competition from [Android] devices, particularly the HTC Desire. The iPad is also high up the list, but currently below Microsoft's Xbox 360."

Some change is expected to take place on the list of hot products in the months before Christmas as shoppers around the globe search for gifts for their loved ones.
