Twitter index: high school memories and Twitter’s fake cancer death

Microbloggers are using the social network to reminisce about their high school, college and middle school experiences.

"The awkward moment #incollege when you're late for class, and when you walk in, everyone stares at you like you killed someone," post people using the "#incollege" hashtag.

"Google and Wikipedia have taught me more than my teachers #inmiddleschool" and "#Inhighschool i had a boyfriend and a girlfriend & we all went to the same school," add Twitterers with the first and third top topics "#inmiddleschool" and "#inhighschool."

Students are also complaining about having to sit their English Literature exams with seventh place topic "English Literature."

"#HBOmoments" is promoted in first place; the name of a spicy Indonesian grilled chicken dish "AYAM RICA-RICA" is in fifth place, and American animated TV show " Kim Possible" moves down one position to number six.

"Jess Holt" is in Twitter’s most talked about topics after Twitter user @Jess_Holt tweeted that she had cancer. The news of her death spread across the microblogs. Now microbloggers are angrily tweeting "that Jess Holt girl pretended to have cancer & all of her friends pretended she died. What a disrespectful & immature bunch of idiots."

"Naming Private Ryan" is in eighth place and "Situación Sentimental" (Spanish for "Sentimental Situation") is in tenth place.
