Twitter index: Twitterers kick back with TV and movies

Twitter's trending topics are filled with the names of movies and TV series on July 5 at 7:30AM GMT.

In the US, many people are still enjoying their Fourth of July holiday and are sitting in front of their TV while keeping their followers informed of their movie and TV series preferences.

Making it into Twitter's list of popular things to watch and tweet about is American TV sitcom " Will & Grace," animated TV series " Phineas & Ferb," the comedy "Half Baked" and popular Korean TV drama " Naughty Kiss."

"God Bless America" continues its reign in eighth place as US microbloggers wish each other a happy Independence Day. "God Bless America" is followed by "Goodnight Twitter" in ninth place.

Hashtags fill the first three places on Twitter's most talked about topics list and include the terms "#ucanthaveme," "#theydontwantyou" and "#soytanforeveralone."

"Wonder what it feels like to be Rebekah Brooks this morning?" ask Twitters after discovering that the British journalist was the editor at News of the World when the tabloid reportedly hacked the phone of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler.

"The public could stomach #NOTW hacking celebs but hacking a murdered child's phone is too much: time for Rebekah Brooks to go" and "If this phone hacking story about Milly Dowler is true heads should roll. Rebekah Brooks needs sacking now. Utterly despicable," comment Twitterers.
