Twitter index: US Independence Day goes global

People around the world are writing Happy Independence Day messages to their Twitter friends in the United States.

"To all my American friends, Happy Independence Day! God bless America!" tweet hundreds of
microbloggers celebrating America's Independence Day on July 4.

Microbloggers are also tweeting that they plan to tune in to a live stream of Linkin Park live from Apple's iTunes Festival. Apple is promoting the free online stream of the event with the number one topic on Twitter "#iTunesFestival."

The hashtags "#relationshipsendbecause," "#fatpeoplenightmares" and "#closingarguments"
follow in second, third and fourth places on Twitter's most talked about topics list.

The Live in Concert tour of American TV series Glee has got tongues wagging and "they kissed" trending after a Sunday night performance in Dublin, Ireland.

Actresses Naya Rivera and Heather Morris (who play Santana and Brittany in the series) gave fans the kiss they've been waiting for during the final leg of the tour.

The movie " Alpha Dog" is trending in sixth place and the " Twilight Zone" TV series is in tenth place.

Twitterers are wishing Super Junior member Cho Kyuhyun's sister "Cho Ahra" a happy birthday.

"Aziz Y?ld?r?m," the president of Turkey's Fenerbahce football club, has moved into ninth place as Twitterers discuss his alleged connection with Turkish match-fixing and his subsequent arrest.
