Two big technology and gaming events are taking place in China. On October 11 Chinese game developers will get tips from the game developing community at the Game Developers Conference in China and electronics enthusiasts will be able to see the latest products from electronics manufacturers at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair.

GDC China and the Independent Games Festival
October 11 - 13

The 2009 Game Developers Conference (GDC) China is the second GDC to be held in Asia. The event aims to heighten the awareness of gaming within China and to assist those in the industry form local and global ties with the game development community. The event features top-quality content from both Chinese and international games makers, with speakers from Dolby Australia; Dice, EA, Concept Art House, Sony Computer Entertainment America, Ubisoft, ACTIVISION China and Blizzard Entertainment. The Independent Games Festival will be held in China for the first time under the banner of the GDC China.

Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition)

Heralded as Asia's biggest electronics event, the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (HKTDC) showcases products and services from all over the world. Last year the event attracted over 2,600 exhibitors. This year there will be new ‘themed zones' with dedicated spaces for Computer & Peripherals, Digital Imaging, Electronic Gaming and Healthcare Electronics spaces making their first appearance at this year's event. electronicAsia, a fair for electronic components, electronics production and display technologies will run concurrently to the event.

GITEX Shopper & Consumer Electronics Expo

GITEX Shopper is an event that is tailored to consumers who want to shop for electronic gadget. Technology vendors, distributors and resellers gather at the event to offer attendees a glance at their latest products and the opportunity to buy them at heavily discounted prices. The event is in its 19th year and was host to over 132,000 visitors last year.

Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2009

Web 2.0 summit

eGames Expo 2009 & Digital Lifestyle Show

New release games from major publishers including Mad Man, Ubisoft, Disney and Microsoft will be available to buy at the eGames Expo along with new release gaming gear and hardware. Those looking to revamp their home entertainment systems and digital gadgets can try out the latest technology at the Digital Lifestyle Show where a full range of products will be available for hands-on demonstrations.
