Weekly high-tech product releases: Droid 2, BlackBerry Curve 3G, wireless keyboard for couch potatoes

High-tech product releases announced the week ending August 11 include Samsung's all-in-one PL90 digital camera, a wireless keyboard that lets you browse the internet from your couch, the Motorola Droid 2, the Samsung Eternity II, RIM's newest BlackBerry Curve, and a colorful MP3 player from Sony.

An all-in-one camera that uses a flip-out USB connector to wirelessly upload images
Samsung's all-in-one PL90 digital camera makes it easy for casual photographers to capture and upload images on the go, without needing to carry cables. The 12.2 megapixel device comes with a built-in USB connector and "Auto-install intelli-studio software" (so you can plug in and play on virtually any computer), 4x optical zoom, a 2.7 inch LCD display, 640x480 video capture, automatic intelligent camera mode switching, and advanced image search. The camera is priced at $150 and will be available for sale in September.

A wireless keyboard for browsing the internet from your TV
The Phantom Wireless Lapboard is made for consumers that don't want to leave their couch to surf the web. Designed to be used with a connected TV or for easy-chair gaming, the Lapboard lets users connect with their PC, Mac, PS3 or other gaming hardwear without needing to sit at a desk. A Motorola Droid successor
The Motorola Droid 2 is the newest smartphone in the popular Android-powered "Droid" lineup. The powerful device comes with an updated processor, version 2.2 of Google's Android software, Flash 10.1, a 3.7 inch multitouch display, a 5 megapixel camera with DVD-quality video capture, an enhanced slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 3G mobile HotSpot capabilities, push email, and built-in social messaging services. The Droid 2 will be available for pre-sale on August 11 for $199.99 on a two-year contract (after a $100 mail-in rebate).

A touchscreen mobile for TV lovers
The Samsung Eternity II is a 3.0 inch touchscreen feature phone that is tailormade for watching TV on the go. It includes a host of social networking features, access to live and simulcast TV programming around the clock (with a mobile TV subscription), Full HTML browsing, GPS, Bluetooth v2.1, a 2.0 megapixel camera and up to 32GB of memory. The Samsung Eternity will be available from August 15. No price has been announced.

An updated BlackBerry for people addicted to checking their email
Research In Motion (RIM) has updated its BlackBerry Curve line with a feature-rich yet affordable mobile device called the BlackBerry Curve 3G (9300). The device sports RIM's much-loved full-QWERTY keyboard, an optical trackpad, BlackBerry Messenger, a removable battery, GPS, WiFi, a 320x240 LCD display, and a 2 MP camera. The BlackBerry Curve 3G can be upgraded to RIM's newest operating system, BlackBerry 6. The device is set to be released in the US and Europe in August. As yet no prices have been announced.

Colorful music players that fit into your pocket and your price range
The Sony Walkman NXZ-E350 series MP3 players feature high-quality sound, long-lasting battery and affordable price tags. Users will get up to 50 hours of audio playback and 10 hours of video playback on one charge. Sony's "Bookmark Function" helps users create playlists on the go while the "SenseMe" technology automatically categorizes music tracks. The 4GB E Series NWZ-E353 Walkman is priced at $70 while its 8GB NWZ-E354 counterpart will retail for $80. Both will be available in September.
