The week of June 14, home cinema enthusiasts and audiophiles will be queuing up at the CEDIA Expo to see the latest products being introduced in the residential custom installation industry. In the USA the best of the web will be highlighted at the Webby Awards in New York and gamers will be keeping their eyes peeled for new product and software releases at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences will be handing out Webby Awards to websites, interactive advertisers, online film and video creators, and mobile websites that excel in the creation and delivery of content web-based content and media during the awards ceremony on June 14. This year Foursquare, Twitter, Tumblr, Hulu, and Mashable are just a few of the companies that have been awarded the "internet's highest honor" and will receive their award at the Webby Awards ceremony in New York.

The CEDIA Expo is the top expo for the residential custom installation industry. It showcases the latest innovations in home cinema, audio-video solutions, lighting control, multi-room audio, home-networking and other essential technologies for custom home installations. This year's "Connect with the Future" exhibition is accompanied by an extensive seminar program and more than 120 hours of educational training courses.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 Expo), owned by the Entertainment Software Association in the US, is a trade-only event that showcases the latest developments from companies publishing or involved in interactive games for video game consoles, handheld devices, personal computers and the internet. The 2010 edition is said to be the biggest ever with many companies expected to announce new hardware and software innovations "that could change the industry for years."

OFFF International Festival for the Post Digital Creation Culture

For its 10th anniversary the OFFF festival is once again departing from its home town of Barcelona and relocating to Paris. The festival - which has previously ventured to venues like New York, Lisbon and Oeiras - will focus on the theme of "Nostalgia For A Past Future" in 2010. The festival's eventful three-day calendar includes a design conference, a multimedia trade fair, a digital animation program, performances, talks, workshops for artists, and most of all aims to celebrate all kinds of visual culture.
Imagine Cup Worldwide Finals
The Imagine Cup is the world's number-one student technology competition. The event attracts around 300,000 students each year from around the world in the pursuit of innovative technology and fresh new ideas. The theme of this year's event is "Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems" and students have been busy working on imaginative inventions that might one day change the world we live in. The Imagine Cup challenge spans a one-year period and consists of local, regional and online contests. Students that excel in these competitions are invited to attend the Worldwide Finals, which will be held in Warsaw Poland from July 3-8.
China International Consumer Electronics Show
The China International Consumer Electronics Show (SINOCES) is the Asian leg of CES. Like the CES, SINOCES welcomes international exhibitors to showcase and unveil their newest consumer electronics product releases. "Convergence & Innovation" is the theme for this year's show. The event will be divided into ten different "TechZones": Integration of Three Networks Zone, Green Zone, Panel Display Zone, eReader Zone, 3D TV Zone, 3G Telecommunication Zone, Home Appliances to the Countryside Zone, E-commerce Zone, Industrial Design Zone, and Government Procurement Zone.
TED Global 2010: And Now the Good News
TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a non-profit organization that aims to spread ideas in the interests of global knowledge and inspiration. The annual TED Global conference is an event that showcases ideas and projects from the most creative minds in the world. Speakers at TED Global will explore the theme of "And Now the Good News," uncovering the vivid stream of good news, ideas, science, technology, art, and ways of thinking that is often obscured by today's sensationalist headlines. The short inspirational talks will be broadcast on the internet for free over the coming months and years.
