Weekly tech agenda: TechCrunch Disrupt, CeBIT Australia

During the week of May 24 start-ups will be vying for top spot during the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in New York. The three-day conference will also cover all facets of today's technology trends including real-time social networking, cloud computing, tablets and smartphones. In Australia more than 500 exhibitors will be showing off their innovations at the country's largest ICT exhibition, CeBIT Australia.

TechCrunch Disrupt is a three-day, single-track conference that unites technology innovators, leaders and users to discuss the changing face of today's media and technology. The event covers all facets of today's technology trends, from real-time social networking and software in the cloud to tablet computing, smartphones and rich media platforms. To present these subjects TechCrunch Disrupt organizers have chosen a healthy lineup of speakers from companies such as Google, Glam Media, betaworks, Facebook, foursquare, Square, AOL, Blippy, GigaOm, Boxee, ChatRoulette, and Gowalla. In addition to panel discussions, keynotes and roundtable conversations, attendees will be entertained with the Startup Battlefield launch competition.

The Australian edition of the world's largest digital IT and telecommunications event, CeBIT will take place in Sydney, Australia. CeBIT Australia is hailed as the country's largest ICT exhibition (but is only around a 10th of the size of its parent event, CeBIT in Hannover). CeBIT Australia is a focal point of an additional series of events (including AusInnovate, eHealth, eGovernment, Enterprise, National Broadband Network and WebForward) that will run concurrently to the exhibition. More than 550 exhibitors and 37,000 delegates are expected to attend CeBIT Australia in 2010.

Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall
The 30th edition of Computex Taipei is organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council and the Taiwan Computer Association. It is now the largest computer exhibition in Asia, second in the world only to CeBIT in Germany. Many large computing firms have research and development centers or production factories in Taiwan and they come to Computex Taipei to launch their new products. Almost 120,000 visitors attended Computex Taipei in 2009 to see products and services from over 1,700 exhibitors.

InfoComm, the largest event in the professional Audio Visual (AV) industry, will welcome more than 32,000 people from 90+ countries in June. The event highlights the forthcoming industry trends - from connected classrooms to sustainable practices - and provides training sessions, labs and hands-on workshops. More than 900 exhibitors will be on site, ready to present the latest technologies for audio, video, display, projection, lighting and staging, digital signage, conferencing, digital content creation, networking and signal distribution.
Apple Worldwide Developers Conference

Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is the biggest annual event in every Mac enthusiast's calendar. The WWDC brings together software and hardware developers to present the latest Apple technologies. Attendees at this year's already sold-out WWDC will be given the unique opportunity to work side-by-side with Apple engineers to gain insight into development techniques and get expert advice on interface design. Apple is expected to announce the launch of its fourth generation iPhone (tentatively dubbed the iPhone HD) at the WWDC as well as provide further details about the iPhone OS 4.0 software update for iPhone, iPod and iPad devices.

Internet Week New York is a week-long celebration of the internet and its community of users within New York. For the third year organizers are inviting anyone and everyone who's interested or involved in the internet to participate in this open event. More than 20,000 people are expected to attend the diverse array of 125 events associated with Internet Week New York this year including the Opening Night Party, the Yahoo! Provoke Summit, Ignite NYC, IAB's Innovation Days, Twtrcon, Mashable Media Summit, plus panels, exhibitions and parties hosted by official sponsors HP, IAC, Microsoft and Pepsico.
ICC London ExCeL
The CEDIA Expo is the top expo for the residential custom installation industry. It showcases the latest innovations in home cinema, audio-video solutions, lighting control, multi-room audio, home-networking and other essential technologies for custom home installations. This year's "Connect with the Future" exhibition is accompanied by an extensive seminar program and more than 120 hours of educational training courses.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 Expo), owned by the Entertainment Software Association in the US, is a trade-only event that showcases the latest developments from companies publishing or involved in interactive games for video game consoles, handheld devices, personal computers and the internet. The 2010 edition is said to be the biggest ever with many companies expected to announce new hardware and software innovations "that could change the industry for years."
