Health Update: Little-known advice

ALMOST three in four women of childbearing age are unaware of the government's advice to supplement their diets with folic acid, a survey from the Consumer's Association has revealed. Morer than 500 women were interviewed two months after the recommendation was issued last December that women planning a pregnancy should increase their intake of folic acid. Only 26 per cent said they had heard of the advice and only 3 per cent could repeat it.
